We have yarn; we’ll survive lockdown

Hello blog. We still have (hopefully only) two weeks of lockdown to go and our household is managing (just barely, on some days) to keep our sanity in tact. How are YOU doing? I have to say that the fact that I have a SABLE (stash acquired beyond life expectancy) is definitely in my favour. What more could one ask for… we have yarn; we’ll survive lockdown.

An epic saga of death (nearly) by bind-off…

Hi there yarnlovers. I hope you had a wonderful weekend doing the things you love. Mine was quite good ~ surviving my eldest’s sleepover on Friday night, helping out at the Parktown Girls Small Stalls Market on Saturday (read a bit about that further down), making a gorgeous Mediterranean Lamb lunch on Sunday and getting just a bit of knitting done in-between.

On the projects front…

I finally finished my “Stella”! It was such an epic saga to cast it off that I was cursing the knitting gods all of Thursday!

The “Love Knitting” App – paperless pattern notation and so much more…

Hello to all you lovely yarnies. I had an unfortunate little mishap on Saturday night that resulted in a minor neck injury. It has limited the time I can spend on my laptop for the next week. This has meant a delay in adding new pages for shops, yarn designers, classes, etc. And I’m postponing my planned posts for today and Friday. I really want to do those posts justice, which means spending more time on them than I’m currently allowed in front of the computer. Instead, I thought I’d briefly share with you an amazing app I found very recently… Love Knitting.

To knit or weave with my Slubby Wool?

Spending some time on Ravelry is an essential part of my day. For me, it’s almost like showering or eating…it just has to happen at least once a day!

I was browsing patterns a day or so ago and happened to open my projects page. I realised in absolute horror that I have only one WIP that I’m making with SA yarn. Yes, I deserve every gasp after reading that sentence, on this, my blog about SA yarns! And I’m even more disgusted with myself because I’ve not gotten much further than when I took the picture. The pattern just isn’t working for the yarn, but the yarn is absolutely divine!
